What are the benefits of using our professional pet sitters?
 
While there are many benefits to selecting a professional pet sitter. The most important ones are knowing that the safety, comfort, and well-being of your pet are in reliable hands, and your pet is able to enjoy the security of familiar surroundings.  Other reasons are:
 
  • Your pet is guaranteed individualized quality care with lots of love while you are away.
  • We are fully insured and bonded.
  • Your pet’s stress and anxiety levels are kept to a minimum.  This is particularly significant for older pets or pets with special needs.
  • There is no disruption to your pet’s daily schedule and/or training routine.
  • Your pets are not exposed to other animals who may be sick.
  • You do not have to impose on friends, neighbors, or a family member to look after your pet.
  • We provide enhanced security for your home and property, and we take care of general housekeeping tasks, including bringing in the mail, watering your plants, putting out the trash, and rotating lights for safety.
  
  
Do I have to give my pet sitter a key to my house?
Yes, we strongly recommend that you give your pet sitter a key prior to the sitting assignment and that you test the key during the sitter’s initial meeting with you. Keyless entry “keypads/codes” can easily malfunction particularly with electrical outages, and hidden keys are not always secure. For instance, you may move the key to a new location and accidentally forget to notify your pet sitter.
  
  
Do you permit shared pet sitting assignments? My friend can do the morning visits. Can you do the evening ones?
We will accept assignments with shared pet care arrangements, but for liability purposes our preference is not to do so.  We take our responsibility for the care and custody of your pet very seriously.  When we are asked to share that responsibility with someone not affiliated with our company, it is difficult to monitor assignments should a problem occur and can also lead to confusion and/or miscommunication.
  
  
How long does a visit last and what is included?
A typical visit will last 20-60 minutes or more, depending on the amount and type of animals that are being cared for, as well as any extra services requested. Administering medication is also included at no extra cost.
In addition to caring for your animals, we can also perform optional household tasks, including taking in your mail & newspapers, turning on and off lights, watering plants, and more. These tasks are free on request, and help to give your home a “lived in” look to deter potential burglars while you are away.
  
  
What animals will you care for?
Our business focus is on farm and livestock, including equines, cattle, goats, sheep, llamas/alpacas, and poultry/waterfowl (including more exotic “farm” birds such as pigeons/doves, guineas, peafowl, pheasants, emus & ostrich). We also will care for exotics and house pets, such as dogs, cats, reptiles, aquariums, parrots, small animals, ferrets, etc.
  
Do you offer boarding?
Currently we do not offer boarding at our location, and only offer pet sits to your home or farm.  We can tailor our pet sitting schedule to best meet your pet’s needs, and most pets are happiest in their home. Some, however, may be better suited for boarding, and there are several great boarding facilities in the area that should meet your needs.
 
Are you insured?
Yes, we are insured and also carry a bond. Our sitters also undergo a thorough background check to be BlueShield Security Verified.
All of our sitters have also been certified in Pet First Aid and CPR through Pet Tech, the first international training center dedicated to CPR, First Aid & Care for dogs and cats.
 
What areas do you serve?
Our normal service area includes all of Fauquier, Culpeper, Stafford and Prince William Counties. schedule permitting, we are available to accommodate those outside of our regular service area.
 
What payments do you accept?
We accept cash, check, or PayPal.

  
Do you have a holiday fee?
No, we do not charge extra for holidays. We do however require a non-refundable 50% deposit on all visits over the holidays.

What is your cancelation policy?
You can cancel up to 5 days in advance for no charge. Cancelations made after that time will be billed for 25% of all day visits and 30% for all overnight visits. We do not refund holiday deposits. We do not refund trips ending early.

I have an ill pet, will you administer medications/care?
Yes, we frequently administer both oral and injectable medications to many pets. We also have extensive experience with post- operative pets as well as expectant mothers.We do request that hard to catch animals be put into a smaller area to be sure your sitters can find and administer medications as directed.
